Creative Studies: Creative Studies Group Assignment

During the following weeks, we are given an group assignment by our lecturer in class. First, we have to create a mind map with a topic which related to Creative Multimedia.

Here is the mind map we done at the first time we start the assignment.

Then, we have to choose a sub topic from it and do a mind map again.

CONTRIBUTION OF CREATIVE MULTIMEDIA TO SOCIETY is our chosen topic.

Next, we have to do an essay in about 800 words of our topic we choose.

CONTRIBUTION OF CREATIVE MULTIMEDIA TO SOCIETY

Creative Multimedia plays an important role especially in the aspect of media. It provides a mass volume of media influence in society and is an element that could not be left out in our modern society today. The media has a huge impact on society and also in public opinion. They can shape the public opinion in different ways depending of what is the objective. Not to mention usage of media influence an even control the up and down of the marketing industry. Media such as advertisements or commercials, news broadcasting, social networking, films or animations in the entertainment industry are all the product of creative multimedia.

In Malaysia, Creative Multimedia has huge potential to be explored in Malaysia. The Government strongly recognizes the potential of the creative industry. The 10th Malaysian Plan, unveiled by YAB Prime Minister last Thursday, has identified Information and Communications Technology as one of 12 National Key Economic Area (or NKEA) to reach a High Income status. The emphasis will be partly on creative multimedia, especially animation for simulation, advertising and entertainment, and games development.

On the other hand, Creative Multimedia applies to visual communication that is needed for the advertisement industry, especially in printed media. Magazines, newspaper, photography and more tend to sourced from the basic of creative multimedia. These products of Creative Multimedia most widely used in commercials, billboards, and of course marks a big role in the marketing packaging. For instance, booklet designs for concerts, packaging designs for market products, book or proposal layouts and more.

In this modern era, creative multimedia is getting more popular as day passed by. Creative multimedia uses different kinds of elements such as videos, audios, colors, digital art, etc. this will indirectly create a world that’s joyful which brings fun and laughter to everyone. So, everyone is enjoying upon using creative multimedia. It also brings us the colors world that is equally fun and brightens up everyone’s vision too. Apart from that, it also ensures the quality of living among the people of this world. In fact, everyone is using things that relate to creative multimedia. For example, mobile phone is indeed quite essential to all and sundry and it is created according to the concept of the interface design. Moreover, the garments nowadays are even come in different styles or colors as well as patterns and this shows the level of demanding by people has been increases. Furthermore, we also use the power of creative multimedia to preserve our photos taken by means of photo editing using certain software such as Photoshop, Meitu XIu XIu, Photoscape, etc.

There are lots of contribution of creative multimedia to the environment such as building design, interior design and others. As we can see, the building designs in the city are now very interesting and attractive enough to grasp people’s attention. Why were these happened? All of them are because of the contribution of creative multimedia to the environment. When there is a unique design such as a burger shop with a burger design of its shop, it may attract a lot of customers to come and buy to boost up the rate of selling their burgers. Besides, there was a cafeteria’s interior design using an interesting design such as a sport car design as the table and chair, and it will look like there is someone racing a car while drinking a cup of coffee. These are what creativity done towards the society.

On the other hand, there is creative generation that contributed by the creativity in multimedia. In today’s society, peoples attempt to create different kind of artistic design. Patricia Piccinini, an Australian artist who has produced various arts related designs for a number of fields. She had designed a vehicle with a concept of “Nest” that resembles the mother and her baby. It looks like a deer or a docile mother and her child looking up to it mother. It was a very touching concept and design indeed. Obviously, a lot of peoples are following the population of fashion. As the fashioners create something new and innovative, there will be majority of the public figure of society attempt to follow or try to get one too. These are the effect appeared when the contribution of creative multimedia turn up.

Not only that, technology also helps in the creating the products of creative multimedia for animations, virtual reality and 3-dimensional (3D) master pieces. The application of engineering both in software and hardware helps a lot in creating this particular piece of product. Besides that, audio system also helps in enhancing the quality of the product because without sound or music, it will be too plain and boring so the audience might not enjoy the works. The artwork is for visual pleasure; to make a presentation better in marketing and competition proposals. When the audience can see and hear, the pleasure of a piece of product might be great depending on how well a person presents it.

Creative multimedia contributes to society in many aspects. Without it, our world would not be complete.( This paragraph will be our CONCEPT of the assignment.)

After that, we have to do 50 random sketches which related to the ' PEN ' that given by the lecturer.
